Materials and colours that instantly add warmth to your home

Find new creative and cost-effective ways to keep your home warm using insulating materials and colours that instantly add warmth to a room.

Here are 5 interior energy-saving ideas to add warmth to your walls, soft furnishings, flooring and furniture.

1. Neptune - We loved the fabric choices available from Neptune, especially the peachy herringbone wool and tweed fabrics, perfect for recovering a footstool.

2. Orac Decor - Use this 3d wall covering to add character and warmth to any wall. A simple addition to use in a draughty room or a modern house with no period features. It can also be easily painted, and many other shapes and finishes are available.

3. Cork - A sustainable and durable flooring option that is soft and warm underfoot.

4. Engineered Oak - Oak flooring company. Great to use over underfloor heating to keep a room warmer for longer.

5. A warm colour palette with greens, rust, and apricots.

Autumn 22 Paint Colour Trends

I recently updated my living room, using new paint colours and furnishings. It doesn't have to be a complete overhaul to make a difference. The paint for the walls I used is Old Ochre by Fired Earth. The colour is a soft apricot, and all my paintings, furniture and ornaments sit perfectly with it. As the room is north-facing, it has a cold light, so the warm tones in the paint warm up the room.
