Interior Design Style:
Lola’s Story

I am passionate about designing beautiful homes and spaces. I carefully plan, source and curate each project, ensuring every room tells a story. I love colour and mixing interior styles, seamlessly connecting old and new with charm and sophistication.

My Story

My career began in London as a textile designer. I started my brand straight out of art school, selling a collection of knitwear and handbags to much-admired companies, Designer's Guild, Paul Smith, Selfridges, and boutiques worldwide.

I moved to Bath; my brand grew, as did my family, so after 3 children, I opened my first Pop-up shop in the centre of Bath, selling a collection of artisan furniture, vintage finds and homewares alongside my knitwear and fashion accessories. I found the perfect way to showcase my design style, which resulted in me moving into designing other people's homes.

At the heart of my work is a comfortable understanding of how and where to use colour and tactile materials and create original and lived-in homes. The foundation of a good room design is listening to the needs of the people living in it, providing a balance of style, fun, and practicality, and bringing their personalities into the home.

My experience in knitwear and manufacturing in the UK has given me a rich understanding of quality and craftsmanship. I encourage the use of long-lasting materials that stand the test of time and source products, both old and new, to create homes that not only look lived in but also make you feel comfortable living in them.

My Inspiration

Colour - Throughout my career, I have been greatly inspired by Trisha Guild, founder of Designer Guild, whose love of colour and nature in design resonates with my style. Being the first store I sold my work into, it has always been a special place.

Texture - I continue to sell my label of knitted fashion and home accessories, all created from the softest Lambswool, naturally warm and tactile materials, made to last. All my products are hand-knitted locally in Bath or made in Hawick, Scotland, by people who have been making knitwear for years.

Pattern - I’m a magpie for beautiful eclectic pieces, never afraid to mix patterned fabrics and wallpaper and always playing with new ideas and combinations.

I am always on the lookout for new products and brands that champion good designs made to last. Throughout all of my travels, I have loved researching and visiting places to learn more about the design culture, appreciating traditional crafts, and always managing to pop into an interior shop, visit a gallery, and take home a memory of where I have been.
