Top Tips To Revamp Your Bathroom

Do you have a bathroom that needs some TLC? It is where we start and end the day, so it deserves to be a beautifully designed and stylish space. Bathrooms require more effort than other rooms to maintain, so careful consideration in the design and installation is vital for longevity.

On a recent renovation project, we found clever ways to update the bathroom and create a new look while keeping some of the original bathroom furniture. This sustainable option meant we could reduce costs.

The bathroom not only had multiple plumbing issues, but the client was also unhappy with the colours and wanted to update the style.

Plumbing issues:

1. Tile or grout cracks, and water gets behind, causing mould and leaks.

2. Pooling of water on the floor caused flooring issues.

3. Toilet seat and broken cistern, with no available replacement resulting in a replacement toilet.

4. The bath panel made in MDF had a buildup of excess water spills and split.

5. Once the tiles in the shower were removed, it exposed the rotten board behind them.

As the turquoise tiles around the bathroom were still in good condition, we looked for a shower tile to complement and update the look. Deciding on a large National Trust tile called Glendurgan Wild Flower.

The new style had a more natural feel to create a luxurious and comforting space. The colour palette included coral, turquoise, teal, putty and a warm white for the walls.

We replaced the flooring with LVT Moduleo wood effect flooring, and the sink unit had new modern colourful handles added and repainted to freshen and tie the scheme together.

New bathroom accessories, from a bath mat rail to towel hooks on the radiator, are all added for a stylish yet practical touch.

We kept and upcycled most of the existing accessories, painting in the new colour palette. The new additions of the wooden bench and bath caddy all brought in more natural elements.

The bathroom is now a beautiful room again.
